Through Stone and Light
Through Stone and Light brought Muses Trio into the luminous surrounds of St Mary’s Anglican Church, Kangaroo Point, for a concert exploring the interplay between music, place, memory & the natural world.
The program featured the Australian premiere season of Florence Price’s Piano Quintet No. 1 in A minor, a masterwork of emotional depth and lyrical beauty, alongside Dobrinka Tabakova’s The Stone Trail, a contemporary reflection on journey and memory. The resonant stone walls and stained-glass windows of St Mary’s provided a fitting setting for this exploration, with guest speaker Ed le Brocq adding another dimension to the experience through words and reflection.
The performance featured Muses Trio alongside guest artists Sonia Wilson (violin, QSO), Rebecca Seymour (violin, QSO), Nicole Greentree (viola, QSO) and Min Jin Sung (cello, Chromatica Collective, QSO), bringing together some of Queensland’s finest chamber musicians for an immersive program where stone, light and sound converged.
